Best of 2016

My heart is so full looking back at all these wonderful weddings from the last year. I've met so many lovely lovely couples, photographed some beautiful venues and been welcomed with open arms by family and friends. Choosing these photos has bought it all home how lucky I am to be doing a job I love so much. So grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy having a look back over some of my favourite photos from 2016.

Amy & Oliver / Wedding

Let me take you back to the beginning of summer and back to Amy and Oliver's beautiful Cotswold wedding. The wedding was held in the most stunning venue, The Rectory Hotel, Malmesbury and could not have been more perfect. I think if I were to plan my wedding over again (to the same man of course) I'd want it exactly the way Amy and Oliver did. From Amy's stunning lace Wtoo gown & cathedral length veil to the prettiest of flowers, giant balloons, and sweetie jars on the tables, just so unbelievably pretty!

Oliver & Amy I wish you all the happiness in the world...Please can we do it all over again!?

Claire & James / Wedding

Claire & James got married on a gloriously hot summer day. Thunderstorms had been threatened but it remained warm and sunny right up until all the guest were seated for the Wedding breakfast and then the heavens opened, how's that for luck!?  I joined Claire and her girls in the morning whilst she got ready at The Forest Hotel. Claire's gorgeous make up was the handiwork of Laura Walton whilst Shen Hassan of Beautiful Wedding Hair did a wonderful job on the girl's hair. Claire absolutely blew me away in her Essence Of Australia gown she looked so beautiful. From there we headed on to the ceremony at St Mary's Church, Lapworth, a place very close to my heart as it's where I got married! It definitely bought back many happy memories.

Afterwards the reception was held at The Welcombe Hotel, a 19th century former country mansions set in the most stunning grounds. The day was magical from start to finish and it was so lovely to be there as not only Claire & James' photographer but also a guest, I was made to feel so welcome. Seeing Claire & James get married was wonderful & I couldn't be happier for them. Thank you guys x

Heather & Terrance / Wedding

Heather & Terrance's big day was truly something special.  Held over the Easter bank holiday weekend at the amazing Rowton Castle, the sun shone, tears of joy were shed and it was so lovely to witness such pure love and emotion declared between a couple whilst they promised to spend the rest of their lives together.

Heather and Terrance's story is one of love and devotion to each other. Terrance is from Michigan, USA and Heather from Stourbidge, West Midlands. They met in Madrid as housemates whilst studying in 2009. Neither wanted to admit their feelings to the other and so remained friends. However on Heathers birthday night out they kissed and from then on became inseparable. Heather had to move back to England in the July to finish uni and Terrance returned to the states. They continued their relationship long distance over the next two years only seeing each other every couple of months. Then in May 2012 they decided they could no longer do it and had to be in the same country. Due to visa restrictions the only way they could be together was to get married. In August 2012 they had a small ceremony at a registry office and then saved up for the wedding of their dreams. All their friends and family were there to celebrate with them, and what a celebration it was with the party continuing until the early hours of the morning!

Thank you so much Heather & Terrance, it was such an honour to be part of your day and I wish you the happiest of lives together.

Lucy & Ed's Walton Hall Wedding

Lucy and Ed’s wedding was an absolute joy to be part of. Their fantastic day took place at the stunning Walton Hall in Wellesbourne with its beautiful grounds.  Although it was a little drizzly outside nothing could discourage Lucy infectious excitement when I turned up and I was made to feel so welcome by her and her girls.

Lucy was helped into her gorgeous Alfred Angelo dress by her bridesmaids before heading downstairs for the ceremony in the Moncreiffe room. Chelsea Flowers were responsible for Lucy’s oh so pretty bouquet and arrangements that tied in perfectly with the butterfly theme of the day.

The sun even managed to make an appearance and after the wedding breakfast (and some hilarious speeches) the guests descended outside to enjoy the last of the day’s sun.

Thank you so much Lucy & Ed for being so welcoming and for having me be part of your beautiful day, I loved it!
